REGISTRATION

1. General Provisions and Definitions

1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (“GTC”) govern the legal relationship between the event organizer (“Organizer”) and the participant (“Customer”) for the World Hockey Championships 2027 in Innsbruck, Austria (“Event”).

2. Registration Purchase and Contract Formation

2.1 By purchasing the right to participate in the tournament (registration), the Customer enters into a binding agreement with the Organizer.

2.2 Registrations are only valid if purchased through official sales channels authorized by the Organizer.

2.3 The resale of registrations for commercial purposes without the Organizer’s explicit written consent is prohibited.

2.4 The contract is concluded when the Organizer confirms the registration in writing by email. An automated acknowledgement of receipt does not constitute acceptance of the registration.

3. Prices and Payment

3.1 Prices for participation in the Event are not published on this website. Prices are provided individually on request. Requests should be addressed to info@worldhockeychampionships.com.

3.2 The applicable price is the price stated in the individual offer made to the Customer. The total price, including all taxes and any unavoidable additional charges, is communicated to the Customer before the registration becomes binding, and is restated in the confirmation referred to in clause 2.4.

3.3 Unless expressly stated in the individual offer, the price does not include travel, accommodation, meals, equipment or insurance.

3.4 Accepted payment methods are those stated in the individual offer.

3.5 The balance of the registration price is due by 15 February 2027. Any deposit payable on acceptance of the offer, and its due date, are stated in the individual offer.

3.6 Registrations accepted after 15 February 2027 are payable in full on acceptance of the offer.

3.7 Participation rights arise only once payment has been received in full.

3.8 Charges levied by the Customer’s own bank or payment provider, including currency conversion fees, are borne by the Customer.

3.9 If payment is not received by the due date, the Organizer may withdraw from the contract and release the place to another participant, having first set a reasonable additional period for payment.

4. Cancellation Rights and Refunds

4.1 Following Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply, as the Organizer provides leisure activities on specific dates.

4.2 Cancellation by the Customer is governed by the Cancellation Policy published on this page, which forms an integral part of these GTC.

4.3 Event Cancellation:

• Full refund if the Event is cancelled by the Organizer
• The refund process will be initiated within 14 days of the cancellation announcement
• Service fees may be non-refundable

4.4 Force Majeure:

• The Organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the Event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control
• This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, governmental actions, pandemics, or security concerns

5. Entry and Attendance

5.1 Entry Requirements:

• Valid registration must be presented
• Random security checks may be conducted
• The right to refuse entry is reserved for security reasons

5.2 Prohibited Items:

• Weapons or dangerous objects
• Laser pointers
• Any items deemed dangerous by security personnel

5.3 Code of Conduct:

• Respectful behaviour towards all attendees, athletes, and tournament volunteers
• Compliance with venue rules and safety instructions
• No discriminatory, racist, or offensive behaviour
• No unauthorized advertising or promotional activities

6. Data Protection

6.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Information Notice published on this page, which forms an integral part of these GTC. In the event of any conflict, the Privacy Information Notice prevails.

6.2 The Organizer is the controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) GDPR for personal data processed in connection with registration and participation. As the Organizer is established outside the European Union but offers services to participants in the European Union, it is subject to the GDPR under Article 3(2) and has designated an EU representative under Article 27 GDPR. The representative’s contact details are set out in the Privacy Information Notice.

6.3 Personal data is stored on servers located within the European Union. Further details, including any use of service providers outside the EU/EEA, are set out in the Privacy Information Notice.

6.4 Customer Rights:

• Access to personal data
• Rectification of incorrect data
• Erasure of personal data
• Restriction of processing
• Data portability
• Objection to processing
• Withdrawal of consent at any time, with effect for the future
• Lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority

7. Media Rights and Recording

7.1 The Organizer holds exclusive media rights to the Event.

7.2 The Organizer and its accredited media partners may produce photographic, film and audio recordings of the Event. General coverage of the Event, in which Customers may incidentally appear, is based on the Organizer’s legitimate interest in reporting on the Event (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is subject to the protection of personal likeness under § 78 of the Austrian Copyright Act (Urheberrechtsgesetz).

7.3 The use of individual, identifiable images of a Customer for advertising or promotional purposes takes place only on the basis of separate consent, which is given freely and may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

7.4 Personal photography for non-commercial use is permitted.

8. Liability

8.1 The Organizer’s liability is limited to:

• Intentional misconduct and gross negligence
• Mandatory statutory liability

8.2 Subject to clause 8.3, the Organizer is not liable for:

• Personal belongings
• Hearing damage from event noise
• Injuries from sports equipment (pucks, sticks, etc.)
• Damage caused at the event venue or partner hotels

8.3 Nothing in these GTC excludes or limits the Organizer’s liability for death or personal injury, for damage caused by intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that may not be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law.

9. Health and Safety Regulations

9.1 Compliance with the health and safety regulations in force at the time of the Event is mandatory.

9.2 The Organizer reserves the right to:

• Implement additional safety measures
• Modify tournament arrangements
• Require proof of vaccination or testing where this is required by the regulations in force

10. Accessibility

10.1 Wheelchair accessible seating is available and must be requested at the time of purchase.

10.2 Special assistance requirements must be communicated at least 7 days before the Event.

11. Governing Law, Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution

11.1 These GTC are governed by Austrian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

11.2 Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the Customer has their habitual residence remain unaffected by clause 11.1.

11.3 Customers who are consumers may bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence. Nothing in these GTC restricts that right.

11.4 The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform ceased operating on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available. Consumers resident in the European Union may obtain free assistance from the European Consumer Centre Network (ECC-Net) at www.eccnet.eu.

11.5 The Organizer is not obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board and does not commit to doing so.

12. Severability Clause

Should any provision of these GTC be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
