When and where will the WHC take place?

The WHC will be held in Innsbruck, Austria in 2027.

What facilities are used for the tournament?

The main venue is Olympia World, Innsbruck’s Olympic facility, featuring two rinks, announcers, music, and professional-level amenities.

How many games will my team play?

Every team is guaranteed six games of 75 minutes. There is also an All-Star Game in every age group except the 2012 birth year. Full package details are on the Features page.

How many players should a team bring?

+

We recommend a roster of 15 skaters plus 2 goalies.

What are the game rules (body checking, overtime, shootouts)?

+

The tournament rules, including body checking, overtime and shootouts, are provided to all teams upon registration.

Which teams are participating in the WHC?

Where can I find the full match schedule?

The detailed match schedule for all age groups will be released in spring 2027 and published here on our website.

Will the games be broadcast or streamed online?

Yes! Games will be broadcast and streamed online. Details and streaming links will be shared on our website before the tournament begins.

Who organises the WHC and handles registration?

The World Hockey Championships are organised by European Sports Travel (EST Ventures LLC), which also handles all registrations. Team enquiries: info@europeansportstravel.com. Tournament and competition questions: info@worldhockeychampionships.com.

How do teams and individuals apply?

– Coaches can contact organizers to enter a team.
– Individuals can apply online; coaches select from the applicant list.
– Applications are accepted at any time, and players are placed on teams between January and March.

I live in North America – how do I register?

Players and supporters from North America register through the European Sports Travel US tournament application: North American registration. The European registration on our Registration page is only for players and supporters coming from Europe.

What information do I need to provide when registering?

The participant’s name and contact details, date of birth, nationality, team affiliation and a portrait photo. Health information is only processed with explicit consent. For participants under 18, all consents must be given by a parent or legal guardian. Details are in the Data Protection Notice on the Registration page.

How do I book accommodation for the tournament?

We offer all-inclusive tournament packages, available for booking through our official registration website, which opens in October. Prefer to arrange your own accommodation? No problem—all options and prices will be listed on the registration site as well.

Are there group rates or discounts for teams and fans?

We are offering different prices for supporters (fans), team staff and players. All package options and the prices will be available online on our official registration website, which opens in October. Children born in 2017 or later receive a 50% discount on any supporter package. Players always pay the full price.

When is payment due?

The balance is due by 15 February 2027. Any deposit and its due date are stated in your individual offer. Registrations accepted after 15 February 2027 must be paid in full on acceptance. Your place is only confirmed once payment has been received in full.

What is not included in the price?

+

Unless your individual offer says otherwise, travel to Innsbruck, hockey equipment and insurance are not included. Accommodation and meals are only included if they are part of the package you book – see the Features page. Fees charged by your own bank or payment provider, including currency conversion, are paid by you.

Where exactly is the venue, and is there parking?

Olympiaworld Innsbruck, Olympiastraße 10, 6020 Innsbruck (get directions). Free parking at the venue for the whole tournament is included in the Family & Supporters Gold and Silver packages.

How do I get to Innsbruck?

Innsbruck Airport (INN) is only a few kilometres from the city centre. Many visitors also fly into Munich (MUC) and continue by train, bus or car – a journey of roughly two hours. Innsbruck’s main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) has direct connections to Germany and Italy. Travel to Innsbruck is not included in the packages.

Is there transportation provided between hotels and Olympiaworld?

All our partner hotels are in walking distance to the Olympiaworld in Innsbruck.

How do we get around Innsbruck?

+

All our partner hotels are within walking distance of Olympiaworld. For the rest of the city, public transport is the easiest option: the Welcome Card – a free guest pass available at selected partner hotels for stays of two nights or more – covers your rides and gives discounts on many other activities.

What is the cancellation policy?

+

Up to and including 15 February 2027 (23:59 CET): full refund, less processing fees (limited to the costs actually incurred).
From 16 February 2027: a cancellation fee of 100% of the registration price applies.

When you register, you can add Event Insurance. It covers cancellations from 16 February 2027 onwards: the cancellation fee is waived and the registration price is refunded. The Event Insurance fee itself is non-refundable. The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to events on fixed dates. How do I cancel, and when will I get my refund?

Send an email to info@worldhockeychampionships.com with the participant’s name and your registration reference. The cancellation takes effect on the day we receive it. Eligible refunds are paid within 14 days, using the same payment method you paid with.

Can I transfer my registration to another player?

Yes. Instead of cancelling, you can nominate a replacement participant up to 7 days before the event, subject to confirmation by the organiser. No cancellation fee applies in that case; any price difference and administration fee are paid by you.

What happens if the event is cancelled or rescheduled?

+

If the organiser cancels the event, you receive a full refund of the registration price, regardless of any deadline (service fees may be non-refundable). If the event is rescheduled, your registration moves to the new date; if you can’t attend it, you can cancel within 14 days of the announcement for a full refund.

Is there medical staff at the rink?

Yes. Medics are on site throughout the tournament.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

+

Yes. Wheelchair-accessible seating is available and must be requested when you book. Any other special assistance needs should be communicated at least 7 days before the event.

Can we take photos and videos at the games?

+

Yes – personal photos and videos for non-commercial use are welcome. The organiser holds the media rights to the event, and official photographers and media partners will be recording. Individual, identifiable photos of participants are only used for promotion with separate consent.
